Original Antique Log Cabin built circa 1830 near Shepherdstown, West Virginia. The size of the logs and the style of notching are very unique for a Pre-Civil War log house.
This circa late 1800s log home exemplifies German craftsmanship--utilizing wide face logs (14" to 20"), handhewn joists, pegged rafter system, and dovetail corners. The home is a full two-story with eight foot ceiling on first floor. Home has a unique log center partition wall. Few original openings allow for flexible design.
